Top 2 Tuesday: Top 2 Favorite US Cities

First off, before top 2 Tuesday..... I want to wish my Mamaw a Happy, Happy, Happy 91st birthday!!!! She loves telling people she's 90 almost 91 all the time, she is so proud; she has to be one of the best looking and healthiest 91 year olds I've met.

Top 2 Favorite US Cities

1. New Orleans, LA- I had such a blast in my short but sweet trip to New Orleans a few years back, we actually went not long after Katrinia when things first started getting back to normal. I would love to go again and get to see more sites as we really tried to do a lot in 30 hrs. Yes, that's about all the time we were there, but a blast it was nonetheless.

2. Las Vegas, Nevada- Yes, the first thing that comes to mind is gambling, but there is SO much to do besides that. A few things we did were: take in a show, site see, skydiving (which was my FAV), Grand Canyon (it wasn't that bad of a drive from LV).

Thoughtless Thursday: School

Photobucket

So, yesterday on my way to work, after I had called and tried to shop the best price for Microsoft Office, I went to the school to buy it for my upcoming semester of Accounting, I walked in the the school bookstore, asked the lady for Microsoft Office word, excel, etc., and she sold me: Microsoft Professional NOT Microsoft Office, I thought it was weird so I asked her, "is this what I need for class, this has word, excel, power point, etc.?" She replied, "yes".... well I try to install it when I get home and notice IT"S NOT WHAT I NEED it's actually just Microsoft for your computer, no word, no excel, NOTHING I NEED!!!

Fast forward to this morning, I call the school, drive up there and they'll exchange it for Microsoft Office 2010, but not give me a refund for the difference. (I opened the package, no open packages can be exchanged or brought back). Did I mention the difference was: $100!!!! Yep, that's right, I'm out $1001!! Lesson learned: never listen to old ladies; trust your gut!!! I knew she was wrong, but I thought okay, I'm coming from working on Mac's previously only (at home) so I maybe wrong, she does this all day, so she must know!!! WRONG!!!!

Err, $100 later, I have Microsoft Office on my computer.

Weekend Round-up

Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend!! Mine was spent between my parents couch in their den and laying on their bed while watching movies with them. I started out feeling fine Friday night, woke up Saturday feeling sick with a migraine and then it just got progressively worse. We had to go to a birthday party for my cousin's son, A.J., who was turning 3!! We had a great time, minus me feeling bad; I even got in the blow-up bouncy thing/slide (not sure what the actually name for it is). The kids had a blast and loved that they could get me to do the slide with them. Then, we had to go from there to a 90 year old's birthday party. I remember this time last year, I was pulling my hair out planning my Grandmother's 90th around this time. While it was a great success and lots of fun and yes, even at 90 she was surprised; it was also a whole lot of work!! Next time I if I ever throw a surprise party I will definitely plan for more people to not follow directions not to RSVP, it seems you always have some that don't RSVP even when asked too, but hey, if you plan like me, you'll have tons of food anyways.

On a side note, I participated in a baby shower blog guessing giveaway at Jamie's blog. To my surprise, I was the closest guess.

Happy Monday!!

I am so looking forward to the Memphis Blog Girls get together tonight, it should be fun!!! I'm so glad Caroline decided to get this going. I hope everyone has a great Monday!!

Happy Friday!!

I'm so glad the weekend is finally here; now, to just make it through work today!!! Did anyone happen to catch Big Brother last night? I know, I know, who cares right? Well I'm so sad to see Britney win HOH, really think she is rude and just plan mean.

When it came down to Britney and Enzo in the HOH competition, I honestly have to say I was very surprised. Inzo hasn't always done the best at the competitions and to see him come so close to HOH, I was actually shocked. Anyone else feel the same?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am addicted to Big Brother!!!! I have watched every season since day 1 and I just really enjoy this show!!
On another note, I finished Kendra Wilkinson's "Sliding Into Home".
I really enjoyed reading her story and I was amazed to hear some of the things she's done, went through, etc. in her life. I would definitely recommend reading the book if you've ever watched, "The Girls Next Door" or know anything about her. She had definitely turned her life around and again, another inspiration of hope that things can workout for me, as I've been going through this tough time in my life recently. I guess, I'll just keep on trying to have hope and praying about the situation.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Thoughtless Thursday

Photobucket

Okay, so I have said this before, but I am a total fan of Ali Fedotowsky, she may even have me believin' that happy endings do happen and not to give up!!! Okay, so I really like her style, but she just seems to have mess hair a lot or maybe that was just on the show, either way, I really like her and think she seems pretty down to earth.

Also, I absolutely LOVE Big Brother and I've watched it pretty much since the beginning, but the last 3 yrs I don't MISS ANY episodes. Is that pathetic or should I not admit that? hehe : ) I never liked Rachel and found Brendon and Rachel's connection rather odd, but who am I to judge. I just loved how she came in the house last night, "I'm back bitches"....... she didn't even care that that was rude, vulgar, or even how she looked to everyone watching at home. I feel bad for her family, how embarrassing to have to watch your relative act like that on national t.v. I don't know maybe I'm being too judgmental?

Any thoughts? To participate visit Katie here and share your thoughts.

Online Shopping

So, as I was doing my daily blog readings this morning, one of which is The Seattle Smith's I really loved the yellow bag that she bought on Target's website. So, after clicking on the link and checking out the yellow bag, I stumbled on 2 others that were similar, but different colors that I just had to have as well.
the yellow tote

the black tote and the tan tote

Yes, I know, I clearly have a purse obsession, as do I with shoes as well. Hey, there are worse obsessions to have, don't you think? Thanks again, Kelsey at The Seattle Smith's for pointing these great bags out to me. I love Target and have several bags past and present from there.

Also, as I mentioned recently, I purchased a Sony laptop for my back-to-school adventure that I am about to start, I'm very excited but scared and nervous at the same time. I feel old to be going back to college, but it would be for a better/more usable degree, so that's definitely a plus. So, I've been looking for a laptop bag, that is stylish and cute and that I'd love to carry around a lot, since I do plan on having to carry my laptop around for working on school work a lot, even from my work office. I am currently on a BUDGET STRICT BUDGET, so I love some good deals.

Happy Wednesday!!

Top 2 Tuesday: Characters

Today's Top 2 for Tuesday is: Top 2 Characters You Would Want to Play in a T.V. Show or Movie

1. Sarah Jessica Parker- a.k.a. Carrie Bradshaw- Sex and the City she has great style, great shoes, a great apartment, fun life, and lives in NYC, I've always wanted to live in NYC, it's just way too cold for me and too expensive.

2. Angie Harmon- a.k.a Rizzoli on Rizzoli & Isles- TNT's new hit about 2 detectives, I love Angie Harmon from back in her Law & Order days. She has great style, I think she is beautiful, and she just makes being a detective look so fun and cool. I love crime scene dramas in general and have always secretly wished to be a homicide detective or a medical examiner, I just think it would be such a cool and fascinating career.

Happy Tuesday!!!

Weekend Recap

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Well, my weekend started out pretty crummy, as I had to work ALL day Saturday. Did I say ALL day, well I got there at 8:35 and didn't leave until 6:30 and man was I tired. It's great OT, but man sitting at your desk on a Saturday working on an Answer to a Complaint all day long is not my idea of a good/fun Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy the OT $$, but I sure would have liked to have been able to sleep in.

After I got done with spending my Saturday at work, I met the parents for dinner at Red Robin. I don't know about any of you, but I personally love there hamburgers. Yes, they may be a little pricey, but they're so big, they make 2 meals and are so yum. After meeting them for a quick bite, I was ready to head home and get in my bed. (which I missed spending a late Saturday morning in). I was in bed and asleep literally by 8:30 p.m., hey, a girls got to catch-up on her sleep. (Did I mention, Friday night I could NOT sleep for anything, I tossed and turned most of the night and had to be at work so early). So I was SO ready for some well needed zzzzz's.

Then, Sunday, we went and saw Eat, Pray, Love; did anyone else see it this weekend? Overall, it was a good movie, there were some parts that made me cry and others that made me laugh a little.

Well, going to watch some t.v. before heading to work! Happy Monday bloggers!!!

Week In Review & Weekend Plan's

Ok, so I have to say, I've made several big purchases in the last two weeks. One was this:
I love my computer, although, it is taking a little time to get use to 1. that it's not a Mac 2. that it's portable and smaller than I'm use to. Although, I have to say, that is one thing I am truly loving about it. I can go anywhere and take it with me. It's great!

So, this weekend my plans include, a wedding tomorrow evening and going to see this movie tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait to tell you what I think about this movie Monday.

Have a great weekend!!!

Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday T.V.

So, is anyone else a Big Brother Fan???? I myself, can't live without Big Brother, yes, I know it's probably a stupid show to some, but to me it's hilarious!!! I mean really, the way people go onto national t.v. and act is HILARIOUS to me!!! Second, does anyone else out there think that Brendan is a hottie??

And yes, I know a lot of people don't like Rachel, but really the one I really don't like is Brittany, anyone else share this opinion with me??? Wow, I just can't wait to see how this plays out. Well, I am so happy it's Thursday!! Woo hoo!!! The weekends almost here, so I'm off to finish Big Brother.

Birthday Weekend

28! Wow! I feel like I'm getting so old now. I can't believe that I am 28. Where has the time gone? Do you ever remember as a kid thinking, "I can't wait till I'm older" or "When I'm older" or "When I grow up"? Well, I'm at the point where I'm at, "If I could go back" or "If I could have known then what I know now". I am a true believer in everything happening for a reason, but really, sometimes I wish I could see what the reasons are now instead of in the future.

So, I say all this to say, I'm rethinking my future and where my life is going. I am blessed to know, that God has me in his hands, but sometimes I wish I could see what he sees. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful to God for everything that he has done in my life and where he has brought me from. I know he has taken me from some dark places, but I wish I could see what he sees in me and for me. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and the support they've given and shown me over the last month, really, my life for that matter. But I have to be honest, if it wasn't for my family (father and mother and aunt and uncle) I don't know how I would have made it through this last month, which has been one of the hardest months of my life. Things have changes a lot in the last month, but I really, really, really want to believe that God knew all this before hand and planned to bring me out of this.

Okay, so what's the next year or two going to bring in my life? Well, that's a great question; and while I don't know the answer to that........ I've decided to go back to school, again!!!! Yep, that's right, and I'm going to take-up something I never saw myself taking up. Accounting!!! I HATE math, HATE, but for my job and the extension of my job, (better position, pay, etc.) I've decided to go back and take some courses and hopefully, get my associates in Accounting. I do enjoy the legal field, but I've been given an opportunity at this new law firm to extend my position if I handle their accounting too. I already use Quicken for my personal financial bookkeeping, so that's one plus at this firm, that they use Quicken instead of Quickbooks, but I still need to know some more, I believe. Hopefully, this will help with my position as well as give me some new skills and maybe open up a better job opportunity in the near future. I really ask for your prayers in the next few weeks as I seek God for guidance and answers as to what and where he has me take my life in the near and distant future.

Thank you!

Another Book Down

Okay, I finished Something Blue by Emily Griffin and I have to say, that I was really not that big of a fan of this book. I liked Something Borrowed, but had a hard time following Darcy's story. Maybe it's because I didn't like her character and the way she lived her life, thinking she was better than her best friend, thinking she had it all and deserved it all. It just wasn't my favorite. I really think Rachel deserved to be treated better by Darcy and that Darcy should not have been so self-observed.

Anyways, up next is: "Sliding into Home" by Kendra Wilkinson. Has anyone read either of these books? If so, let me know what you think.

Top 2 Tuesday: Simple Pleasures

  1. Clean fresh sheets- I love snuggling up in sheets right out of the dryer. The sent of the fabric softener and the warm sheet, what could be better at the end of a busy day.
2. It was a hard to choose between pedis and sweets, but at the end of the day,
I LOVE having a good pedi.

Just Another Manic Monday!

Wow, it's Monday again, already? Although, I can't wait to see The Bachelorette season finale tonight, I can wait to be at work!!! I wish we had one more day to this weekend. I enjoyed doing pretty much nothing, although I did go to the movies this weekend. I saw Charlie St. Cloud. Anyone else seen it yet?
It was a sad movie, ladies, take some kleenexes with you. I did enjoy it but it was again, sad. The boy's came over and we had some fun this weekend, playing Wii, playing outside, and watching movies. I love my nephews and they have been great relief from the saddened heart break I've been feeling this last month after the end of what I thought was going to be my forever relationship after 4 years. Thanks to God and my family for helping me get through this tough time.

I hope everyone's having a wonderful Monday!
